Torrington Municipal and Teachers Federal Credit Union, (TMTFCU) is a not-for-profit financial cooperative. Unlike banks, a credit union’s profits go back to its members in the form of higher yields on savings accounts, and lower rates on loans. We are a community based credit union that serves anyone who lives, works or goes to school in Litchfield County. All businesses are entitled to membership, and can offer credit union membership as a free benefit to their employees.
We are a full service financial institution with the ability to offer a large variety of products and services at a low cost to our members. TMTFCU will never charge you $3.00 - $5.00 to complete a face to face transaction with one of our frontline staff. Your interest rate will never increase on your credit card because you’ve made your payment one day late, and you will never be charged a fee to make your loan payments! Our philosophy of people helping people shows in our products, services and staff. Once you join TMTFCU, you are a member for life. Our goal is to be your primary financial institution.
